Midseason Trade to the Dodgers
At the trade deadline, the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Edman from the Cardinals and Michael Kopech from the Chicago White Sox in a three-team deal. After six more rehab games with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Edman was activated on August 19.

Edman’s Impact with the Dodgers
Edman had a modest start in his first 11 games, hitting .275/.286/.350 with three RBIs and three stolen bases while splitting time between shortstop and center field. However, in September, he caught fire, proving why the Dodgers acquired him.
Breakout Performance vs. Cubs
On September 10, Edman hit two home runs against Cubs lefty Shota Imanaga, marking just the second multi-homer game of his career.
The following night, Edman homered twice again, this time from both sides of the plate, becoming just the 10th Dodger in franchise history to do so.
Following his hot streak, his batting average jumped from .282 to .300, and his OPS surged from .645 to .821.
2024 NLCS MVP
In the NLDS against the Padres, Edman struggled (.235 BA, .471 OPS), but with Miguel Rojas injured, he took over shortstop duties for the NLCS against the New York Mets.
